 2011 LCGCSA Member/Pro Tournament

 

 

RESULTS

 

Talk about defending home turf, the boys from Oldfield swept the Member/Pro Tournament this year.

 

First Place, from Oldfield:

Chris White (Assistant Superintendent) and Alex Magowitz with a 68

 

Second Place, from Oldfield:

Brian Roller (Head Superintendent) and Jon Hundley with a 69

 

Long Drive, by a mile:

Chris Epperson, pro playing with Mathew Fitzpatrick of Indigo Run

 

Closest to the Pin, by only a fraction:

Greg Bush, pro playing with Scott McCoy of May River

 

We had 22 teams compete this year.  Thanks to everyone who came out.

2011 Hilton Head Island Bowling Social Results

 

Team Palmetto Dunes retained the coveted Crystal Mug’s by surpassing their last years

Pin Count by 39 with a Total of 1817 over 3 games

Overall Individual Champion, also from Team Palmetto Dunes, was Patrick Wake with a 566 series.  Allen Gerstner, of John Deere Landscapes, rolled the highest single game with a 222

 

Thanks to everyone who showed up, we had 43 bowlers this year with many more coming over for the social.

2010 Fishing Tournament Results

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the Captain’s Meeting on September 29th at Captain Woody’s, we had a good turn out and a few new faces.  Despite the bad weather previously in the week, the fishing tournament on September 30th was good fun had by all.  Congratulations to Ashley Davis, superintendent at Long Cove Club, and his boat who won the large bass, large trout, and the whole shooting match.  Big thanks to Dave DeGeorge, of Ameriturf, and Al Hicks, of Show Turf, for getting everything organized and doing the weigh-in.  Also, thanks to Ted Wells, superintendent at Spanish Wells Golf Club, for arranging the use of the club dock to host the weight-in.

2010 LCGCSA Par 3 Open Results

The warm temperatures promoted some hot scoring at Crosswinds Golf Club for the annual Par 3 Open.  The team from May River Golf Club, composed of Scott McCoy, Nate Stevely, Scott Martin (Corbin Turf), and Chris Johnson, shot a 16 under and received the top honor of taking home the big check.  Congratulations as well to the second place team composed of Russ Zamostny (John Deere Landscapes/Lesco), David Hightower (Palmetto Dunes), Grant Backus (Palmetto Dunes), and Stuart Calvert (Sea Pines Country Club).  Closest to the Pin prizes went to Nate Stevely (May River Golf Club), and David Alexander (Hunter Army Airfield).  Thanks again to all who participated and Todd Wert, course superintendent, and all the staff at Crosswinds for putting on a great event.

It took a one hole playoff for Jay Boring and David Rogers from Berkley Hall to defeat Tony Nimmer, from Nimmer Turf, and Cary Stoffel, of Vereens.  Both teams shot a 67.  Congratulations to the team from Berkley Hall, who also one the event in 2008, they got to bring home the big check.  Joy Boring also won the Long Drive and Bob White, head pro from Wexford Plantation, won Closest to the Pin.  Thanks again to all who participated; we had 29 teams in total.
